Recently I have been asked this question a lot.  I feel sorta of weird answering it because I have only been doing it for a few months now.  Since I have not had years of experience on this subject matter I decided to answer it with a sorta, kind of how I see it or how I do it response.  I have talked with other photographers and got some of their feedback before creating this video.  I hope this video will help answer that question and give you some ideas on how to get started in this sort of photography.

One thing I do want to stress is the importance of having fun and enjoying yourself while doing this particular kind of photography.   To be honest you should try to enjoy any kind of photography you are doing.  I think it is key because it does reflect in your work and people will see your work.  That is just my view anyway. 🙂

In this video I go over some of my thoughts and some tips on how to get yourself onto that next step.  I look at my photography journey as small steps.  I work hard until I get up that next step, after that I enjoy the view for a bit then work hard to get to the next step.  My photography journey is only beginning, so I know I have plenty of work ahead of me.

Thanks for watching and I hope this answer to the question “Hey Chris, how do I get started in music or concert photography, do you have any tips?”  This is my response. 🙂  You can see the videos down below of me talking about my previous concerts and the video of me announcing photographing Van Halen.
