In this blog I am going over how you can create, delete or modify shortcut keys in Corel Paintshop Pro X5 & X6. Short cut keys allow you to bring up certain parts or adjustments within Corel just by simply pressing a key or keys on your keyboard. This helps with workflow and can create a faster workflow experience while using the Corel program.
The first thing you want to do is mouse over anywhere near the Corel text and RIGHT CLICK, then scroll down to CUSTOMIZE and left click on your mouse.
After that you will see this menu option appear and you want to click on the KEYBOARD tab.
You will then click on the drop down menu called CATEGORY. This drop down menu has the same list of category’s that are up on the right hand corner of your Corel Paintshop program. So which ever category you select to add a shortcut to will also appear in the drop down menu’s in the upper right hand corner.
After you select which category you want to add a KEYBOARD SHORTCUT TO, all you need to do is select the particular tool and then add your own shortcut key.
Type your shortcut key combination into the PRESS NEW SHORTCUT KEY Box.
Then click on the ASSIGN button and now your shortcut key is assigned to that adjustment tool!
Click on the close button and you now have your own shortcut key created and ready to use!
Just type in your shortcut key combination and your adjustment option should appear like below!
Remember when you are typing in your shortcut keys you do not.. I repeat you DO NOT need to hit the + key. They show the + key to let you know that you have to press what is before the + symbol and what is after the + symbol when typing your shortcut in the keyboard. (I hope that made sense to you).
You can check out my video below where I go over everything in this blog post! If you have any questions please feel free to leave them below and I will get back to you ASAP. Thanks for watching and reading! Much Love. Chris
I’m trying to figure out how to assign the left and right mouse click to the keyboard. Is it already assigned somewhere and I’m missing it? Any help would be much appreciated.
Found this very helpful, thank you. It also works on Paintshop Pro x8.
Please Please tell me how I can delete an image that I do not want it surely should be simple
I’m trying out Corel PaintShop Pro 2018 – and I cannot find the menu for customizing keyboard shortcuts. The help file says about the same thing you describe, however in the Customize menu, there is no “Keyboard” tab! The only tab is “Options”. Weird.
