Corel PPX6 Management TAB overview

In this post I will be going over some of the changes within the Management tab in the new Corel Paintshop PRO X6.  There are minor changes and way’s that you can change your layout to have a look much like Corel PPX5.

One of the first things you will notice is the layout of the new Management TAB.  It looks different from X5.

You can see the difference.  Corel PPX5 had there organizer at the bottom of the layout and now X6 has it right in the center. Your preview of the image in X5 used to be in the center and in X6 it is now in the lower left hand corner.  If you want to change how the layout looks in your Management tab you can do that very easily.

The first thing you want to do is look over to the right upper corner of you X6 Management TAB.  You will see three little icons.

  • Icon 1 looks like a globe.
  • Icon 2 looks like a framed picture
  • Icon 3 looks like square filled with small boxes.

When you mouse over the framed picture icon you will see an option called PREVIEW MODE.

When you mouse over the square filled with small boxes you will see an option called the THUMBNAIL MODE.

If you click on the PREVIEW MODE your layout will change like this.  Now this layout should look familer to people that have been using Corel PPX5.

If you click on the THUMBNAIL MODE your layout will change again.

You can now decide which layout works best for your workflow.  I do like the new layout but this will allow anyone to make the changes need to help in particular style.

Another thing some people using Corel PPX5 might be used to is the INSTANT EFFECTS pallet that pops up in X5.  You can still add that to your layout by click on the VIEW tab and scrolling down until you click on PALETTES and then on INSTANT EFFECTS.
